GALERIE FLUEGEL-RONCAK, with a strong focus on Contemporary Art and Pop Art will held its Opening Reception for the new Show
„KEITH HARING Icons-White Icons“
from 19:00 to 21:00 on Friday, February 3rd 2012.
The Exhibition runs through March 15th 2012.
We will show the two last print series "Icons" Keith Haring made in 1990.
Haring was born in Pensylvania in 1958 and was influenced by graffiti art. He died on February 16th in 1958 in New York due to AIDS related complications.
Besides Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein he was one of the main artists of the POP Art movement. His Iconic stick figures made him famous all over the world shortly.
The works in this exhibition show both Portfolios of Icons Suite from 1990. The coloured ones and opposed to them the complete white ones.
Booth have the outlines embossed, at the white ones this is the only change on the smooth paper which turns up the images.
The series are a kind of retrospective as they include all important and iconic symbols Haring used during his whole period: The radiant child, the barking Dog, the Angel...
The Radiant Baby is the tag of Keith Haring, pop/street artist of the 1980s. Haring said of the baby, "Babies represent the possibility of the future, the understanding of perfection, how perfect we could be. There is nothing negative about a baby, ever...The reason that the "baby" has become my logo or signature is that it is the purest and most positive experience of human existence."

GALERIE FLUEGEL-RONCAK, with a strong focus on Contemporary Art and Pop Art will held its Opening Reception for the new Show
„JULIAN OPIE – Portraits“ from 19:00 to 21:00 on Friday, September 23rd 2011.
The Exhibition runs through November 4th 2011. We will present new Portraits which were done in 2010 and 2011.
Julian Opie was born in 1958 in London and studied at Goldsmiths College of Art. He got international review in 1984 with his works for documenta8 in Kassel/Germany.
Since then he is one of the most important and most popular British Artists, maybe the only one who transferred the Pop Art idea from Andy Warhol and others to the present.
Julian Opie's art is known for its reduction to simple outer lines and monochrome colours.
While doing that, he constantly tries to work with new media and a new combination of different media, not only doing simple prints or paintings.
His work is found in nearly every important modern art museum all over the worls like the Tate London or MoMa New York.

Between 01.08.2011 until 05.09.2011 the Gallery is open by Appointment only. Viewings at your location will be possible by request.

Opening Reception 10.06.2010 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
We will show recent photography by the young emerging artist Jana Ilkova. The Show runs through July 24th.
Jana Ilkova was born in 1978 in Topolcany, former Czechoslovakia (CSSR). She finished her studies in 2004 at "Akademie der Künste und des Designs" (VSVU) in Bratislava, Slovakia. Exhibitions in Germany, Austria, France, Poland and for sure Slovakia followed. She took part at Prague Bienale.
In her black and white images Jana documented the bodies and emotions of the people in front of her camera. Even in our days while digital photography and photoshop modifications are usual, the artist still works with natural light situations. In that way her works get a constant grey immaculate charisma which puts reality in the rear.

Tue - Fri 11:00 am - 6:00 pm

We invite you and your friends to the Show "Allen Jones - Drawings and Prints"
Show runs through march 20 th 2010.
We present a fine selection of original drawings and sketches by famous british artist Allen Jones. The Show will be completed by several prints.
Allen Jones, born in 1937 in Britain, is one of the last one alive famous Pop Artists. He became famous in the 60ies and his works are in nearly all museums like Tate Britain, MOMA New York, or Museum Ludwig in Cologne. Allen Jones was one of a group of students which included Derek Boshier, David Hockney, R. B. Kitaj and Peter Phillips, who radically changed the face of British art with their precocious, unconventional and irreverent work which was based in popular culture, embracing new subject-matter and new materials. Jones's preference was for glamour and style, and his aesthetic centred on beautiful women visualised erotically and stereotypically as in glossy magazines, advertisements and cartoon strips. Underpinned with a great mastery of colour and a consummate painting technique, Jones's work fluctuates between painting and sculpture. On a flat canvas painted forms appear sculptural and his three-dimensional works are painterly. He uses colour to describe form, at times with graphic precision, or conversely with an energy and freedom of gesture which is close to direct expression. Similar developments are evident in his printmaking.
He lives and works in London.
Images of the artworks by request and on the website.

With that Accrochage we will show a fine selection of our gallery artists: Andy Warhol, Tom Wesselmann, Candida Hoefer, Thomas Ruff, Simone Kocher, Bozena Bosko, Ariane Kipp, Robert Indiana, Alex Katz, Takashi Murakami, Julian Opie, Mel Ramos, Helmut Newton, Martin Denker and much more...

VIENNAFAIR - The International Contemporary Art Fair will be celebrating its fifth edition at the Messe Wien expo centre in 2009.
Focusing on young art and new galleries the VIENNAFAIR represents the dynamic development on the international art scene with a heavy emphasis on Central and Eastern Europe.
Every year this successful mix of established and new, national and international galleries is a point of attraction for collectors and people interested in art from all over the world.

Julian Opie's new work features linear life-sized images of the pole dancer Shanoza in nine different poses, each divided into three framed panels. His technique involves a unique marriage of silkscreen and flocking, resulting in a rich, black and velvety surface texture to contrast with pure white acrylic support panels - lending a dense and blurred quality to her outline.
Flocking is historically associated with wall coverings that became popular during the reign of Louis XIV of France and its use continues, in various forms, to the present day.
The representaion of Shanoza has been a recurring theme in Opie's work and earlier projects featuring the same subject include lenticular acrylics of Shahnoza dancing Naked and Shahnoza dancing in White Dress. The figure in these works appears to move when viewed from different angles.
This exhibition follows from Opie's major solo exhibitions at MAK (Museum of Contemporary Art) in Vienna and MITO Arts Foundation in Tokyo.
In line with out gallery task we are addict to PopArt, Contemporary Photography and emerging painters.
In order to have really new discoveries ready for you, we operate a project space in Bratislava, Slovakia.
Four to six times a year we will organize exhibitions and private views in our gallery space, whereat we will inform you punctual.
